Scholarship Details
Up to $5,000 total. Payable as $2,000 for freshman year, $1,000 for sophomore year, $1,000 for junior year, and $1,000 for senior year.
After the first payment, all subsequent payments will be made after verification of all renewal requirements being met by the student.
Renewal requirements include: proof of enrollment and a continued 2.5 GPA or higher. These requirements must be verified by an official transcript from the student’s school.
Eligibility Criteria
Nowata High School graduating senior.
3.0 or higher unweighted GPA.
Service to school, defined as involvement in school activities, clubs, service organizations, school government, pep squad, etc.
Attending university, college, junior college, trade school, or vocational school.
Well-written essay addressing why you feel you deserve this award.

About this Scholarship
Established in 2022, the KB Berry-Bucky Buck Memorial Scholarship Fund offers two scholarships per year – to a male and a female student-athlete – in memory of two beloved and accomplished Nowata High School Class of 1964 student athletes.
Kenneth “K.B.” Berry was a gifted athlete and natural leader whose sense of duty ultimately led him to military service, where he gave his life in Vietnam at just 21. Douglas “Bucky” Buck—also a star athlete—built a life defined by hard work, humility, and deep ties to his community, cherishing the bond he shared with K.B. until his passing in 2018.

Scholarship Details
Up to $2,000 total. Payable as $1,000 for the first year, $500 for second year, $250 for the third year, and $250 for the fourth year.

About this Scholarship
The Zona B. McCracken Memorial Scholarship fund was created by Miss McCracken's nephew, John M. Arnold, to honor the 45 years that Miss McCracken taught first grade in the Nowata Public School System. The scholarship is intended to help the children of the Nowata community, and recipients will be chosen based on their scholastic achievement, leadership and character, school activities, and community service. In view of the Indian heritage of the McCracken family, Mr. Arnold's wish was to also consider American Indian blood as a favorable factor in conjunction with the other selection criteria.
